The Texarkana Moonlight Murders

The year 1946 would become one of the most notorious in Texarkana history. A town that is half in Texas, and half in Arkansas, Texarkana is certainly a unique place to be. One thing that was not unique about the town was its’ Lovers Lanes that teens and young adults would visit. On February 22, 1946, Jimmy Hollis and Mary Jeanne Larey were parked out on one such lane, Richmond Rd., after a double date. They weren’t out long before their night was interrupted by a masked man. He was staring through the window at them, brandishing a handgun. He instructed them both to get out of the car, before launching into a methodical attack on the couple.
